God vs Satan

Peter understood what it was to be attacked by Satan. Satan had attacked his faith on numerous occasions. When Peter wrote that Satan was “…seeking someone to devour,” (1 Peter 5:8, NASB), he wrote it with the teeth marks still in his arms from the various times he had been attacked. He knew how ravenous the enemy is, so he gave his readers five ways to withstand and overcome Satan’s attacks.

When we think of the weapons in Satan’s arsenal, what comes to mind? Typically, we think of evil weapons like ISIS, pornography, addiction, atheism, etc. But the most powerful weapons in his arsenal are those small, seemingly innocent things, which take our focus and eyes off of Jesus. Just ask Peter…he knows. But he also knows that God is mighty!
