Encouragement and Peace

We all need encouragement. We all face times in which we feel like a hamster on the wheel getting nowhere. We may not have a bloodthirsty emperor breathing down our necks, but our fear is just as real and our discouragement just as intense. We may become discouraged with our job, our family, our church, our country, our finances, or a variety of other sources. When discouragement happens, and it will, where do we find encouragement and peace?

The book of 1 Peter was written by a man who understood that we cannot do anything to get God to stop loving us. Peter often struggled in his faith, but God never stopped believing in him. God never stopped using him and loving him. This is what grace is. This is the grace that brings us courage and peace. This is the grace and peace that God has offered to all creation!
